New Pine and Cedar Decks

20130218_104704How long do I need to wait to seal the deck?

In the past, Pine wood was preserved with different chemicals that made the wood stay wet longer, which meant that people should wait 6 months to seal their deck. As for the new yellow pine being used, as soon as the deck is built and dry, I would recommend sealing it immediately.  This wood has a tendency to warp and crack quickly without protection, and these   conditions are not reversible.
